Harm Reduction
Together We Stand has built a Tri-City Harm Reduction Clinic to create a mobile street-based harm reduction program in the Tri-City areas of Union City, Newark, and Fremont. This innovative program brings harm reduction services directly to the communities that need them most, reaching individuals who may not have easy access to traditional healthcare settings.
The mobile unit is equipped with trained staff who provide a range of services, including HIV and Hepatitis C testing, overdose prevention education, distribution of naloxone kits, and safe needle exchange. The goal of the program is to reduce the spread of infectious diseases, prevent overdoses, and connect individuals to healthcare and social services.
By bringing these crucial harm reduction services directly to the streets, Together We Stand and the Tri-City Harm Reduction Clinic are able to reach a wider and more diverse population in need. This approach helps to break down barriers to care and destigmatize seeking help for substance use issues. The program has been successful in building trust with the community and connecting individuals to resources that can improve their health and well-being.
Overall, the mobile street-based harm reduction program in the Tri-City areas is a testament to the power of community collaboration and grassroots efforts to address public health issues. Together We Stand and Tri-City Harm Reduction Clinic are dedicated to continuing to expand and improve upon this important program to better serve the needs of the community and promote harm reduction practices in the region.
